A Prayer of Surrender: The Offering
Each day we accumulate thoughts, memories, experiences, and desires. It’s easy to carry our yesterdays into our today’s and our today’s into our tomorrows giving us that much more to manage, store and process. There is a both a feeling of being depleted and overly full as the load gets heavier and heavier. It can becomes hard to move forward in peace and with clarity. In these moments, may we recognize the need to let go and have the wisdom to seek God’s face for healing and direction. In order to move forward we must first surrender…
Dear God,
There is so much going on in my heart and running through my mind
I need to find a way forward in peace, I can’t carry it all
The weight of the past, the responsibilities of the present and the desires for the future
In this moment, I surrender to You
From the beginning to the end of each hope and dream, opportunity and obstacle
Come what may as time ticks on I declare that my trust in You will grow strong
You are the foundation I choose to stand on
Your spirit is everlasting
Your power all consuming
Your love forever renewing
As sure as the sun and moon rise and set, You are with me
You will never leave me or fail me
And in every heartbeat and every breath I acknowledge that You gift me the power to choose how I will be used.: For good or evil? To build or break? To shrink or grow?
With each word and each decision
Each observation and each response
I choose to trust and obey
To believe You and break free
Head bowed and arms stretched wide, I give you every hurt, betrayal, and rejection
Every doubt, worry , fear, and failure…Every memory
In this moment I offer it all to you
My father and healer.
My rock and my shield
I ask in faith that You fill me with peace and strengthen me with love
You allowed me to wake up with the ability to think, feel, connect and share
Help me step fully into this day, to embrace it
Help me to choose to live, progress, become and give
As I act in Your wisdom and by Your grace
Fill what is empty
Smooth what is twisted
Clear what is blocked
And mend what is wounded
I acknowledge all that “was”
accept the challenge of what “is”
and decide to build what “will be”
Thank You Lord for being with me and working through me in Jesus name I courageously pray,
Amen `
